These lovely and unusual stones originate from India and have been hand cut and polished where the top of the stone is polished in a shiny half dome to highlight the Ruby "star" while the shaft of the stone is smooth, 6 sided. The top can vary in color from pinkish to deep violet and you can see a chatoyant, starry like reflection all over the tip. The bottom of the base is also chatoyant. Overall, these stones range from a deep, almost black color to more light hues of purple and red.
